When Baskin-Robbins partnered with Sony to launch the new Hotel Transylvania movie, they challenged us to elevate it from a simple co-branding exercise into an engaging customer experience for both instore and online.

An AR-inspired solution
Leaning into the movie’s transformation theme, we created Transform Your Treat: a character and plot point-inspired ice cream range and accompanying digital experience that used augmented reality technology to immerse fans in the Hotel Transylvania world.

Bringing packaging to life
Using AR tech platform 8th Wall, we created a series of AR experiences triggered by illustrations on packaging. By scanning our bespoke cups and cone sleeves with their phones, users could launch custom animations that mirrored character transformations from the movie.

Immersing fans in the universe
To up the ante even more, we created a themed Hotel Transylvania microsite where fans could explore our spooky virtual hotel, traveling between floors via elevator, and even order ‘room service’ from our branded Hotel Transylvania virtual restaurant on Uber Eats.

We drove clicks to our campaign site via animated social ads and thumb-stopping organic content.
